Iron &
Stone. 🏗️

Paris is a museum under the open sky. These are the landmarks that act as the compass points for the entire city.

Gustave's Masterpiece

La Tour Eiffel. 🗼

Built for the 1889 World's Fair. Artists originally called it a "useless monstrosity," but today it is the most recognized structure on Earth.

The Sparkle

Every hour on the hour after sunset, the tower glitters for 5 minutes with 20,000 light bulbs. It is magical every single time.

The Summit

You can take a glass elevator to the very top. Visit Gustave Eiffel's private apartment where he hosted Thomas Edison.

METERS High
Napoleon's Glory

Arc de Triomphe. ⭐

Located at the center of the "Place de l'Étoile" (Star Square), where 12 grand avenues radiate outward. It honors those who fought for France.

The Roof View

Climb the 284 stairs to the roof. It is the best view in Paris because it is the only high point where the Eiffel Tower is perfectly framed in the skyline.

The Chaos

Look down at the roundabout. There are no lane markers. Insurance companies automatically split liability 50/50 for accidents here.

Unknown Soldier

Beneath the arch lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from WWI. The eternal flame is rekindled every evening at 6:30 PM.

From The Ashes

Gothic Masterpiece

Notre Dame. ⛪

Located on the Île de la Cité, the island where Paris was born. After the devastating 2019 fire, it has been rebuilt stone by stone.

Point Zero:

Look for a brass star embedded in the pavement in front of the cathedral. It is "Point Zero"—the center from which all distances in France are measured.

Montmartre

Sacré Cœur. ⛪

The "White Basilica" sits on the highest hill in Paris. It is made of travertine stone that bleaches white when it rains.

The Steps

The stairs leading up to the basilica are a popular gathering spot at sunset. Musicians play, people drink wine, and the whole city stretches out below you.

The Funicular

If you don't want to walk up the steep hill, use a standard Metro ticket to ride the funicular railway up the slope.
